Pam Inabinet Bailey began her training with Margaret Foster, the founding director of the original Carolina Ballet Company. Later, she was a soloist with the original Columbia City Ballet under the artistic direction of Ann Brodie. During her early years, she also trained in musical theatre under Naomi Calvert and acting technique under Mary Lou Kramer. Ms. Bailey received a Bachelor of Arts degree in theatre and speech from
Columbia
College
with a concentrated focus in dance under Sylvia Seymour Davis. Ms. Bailey has performed and choreographed for Industrial Shows and national telecasts ranging in locations from
Atlantic City
to the Far East of Vietnam and
Thailand
. Her choreographic works have also been seen at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in
Scotland
. Ms. Bailey also staged Gospel, Christmas and musical shows for Steve Gatlin in
Myrtle Beach
as well as choreographing a national television pilot. Her former students have performed as soloists with the Alvin Ailey Company in NY and Disney, as well as becoming leading community theatre directors. Ms. Bailey recently directed and choreographed the first
South Carolina
community production of the Broadway classic, CATS, to rave reviews and record hold- over performances at the historic Town Theatre.
Ms. Bailey has written and directed a children’s musical for Overall Kids Music in
Nashville
. She has also written numerous one-act plays for children including over 20 original works for dance presentations. Major original productions include
Alice
In Wonderland, Red Riding Hood and Cinderella, Bo Peep and other Defining Women. Ms. Bailey has choreographed numerous community theatre productions such as Fiddler On the Roof, Singin’ In the Rain, Annie, The Wizard of Oz, The Wiz and Oklahoma!... to name a few… for Workshop Theatre and Town Theatre.
Pam Bailey has also constructed original religious works based on Mary and Martha and Noah’s Ark. She has also taught workshops based on Joseph of the Old Testament.
Ms. Bailey is the former owner of Bailey Fine Arts and the founder of a performance company to benefit children’s charities. She now owns and directs The Divine Playhouse in
Lake Carolina
,
SC
---a faith-based performing arts center. Ms. Bailey also serves as Promotional Director and Choreographer for the
Palmetto
Center
for the Artsthe arts magnet for
Richland
District Two at
Richland
Northeast High School.
